United Church seeks equal employment rules for utilities
The United Church of Christ joined 11 civil rights groups to petition the Federal Power Commission for rules banning employment discrimination in regulated utilities. They argue minorities and women are excluded from higher paying jobs in electric and gas sectors. The filing cites FCC actions on hiring bans, recruitment, training, and annual reporting as precedent.
