New Bible Translation Project Aims for Modern English Version
About one hundred Bible scholars under the New York Bible Society begin a new translation of Scripture aimed at faithful fidelity to original languages. The project, led by the Committee on Bible Translation, seeks a widely accepted standard for churches in America and abroad, with the Gospel of John due next fall and the full New Testament in about three years.
