Liberty Bell's Journey From England to Philadelphia
The Liberty Bell was cast in England in 1752 for the Pennsylvania Statehouse and became a symbol of freedom. It rang on July 8 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was read, was hidden in Allentown during the British occupation, and bears the inscription Proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof.
