Judge Mahoney’s DWI charges reduced in Arizona case
County Attorney Bob Bean says two DWI charges against Superior Court Judge T. J. Mahoney were reduced after plea bargains over seven months. Mahoney was first arrested in Apache Junction last July for reckless driving with a $100 fine. A second stop near Coolidge on August 11 led to a reduced charge of crossing the center line and a $12 bond forfeiture after he refused a breath test, a suspension ruling later quashed by a Motor Vehicle Division hearing officer citing lack of sworn arresting officer.
