Lee Roye Martin Named Gaffney Strangler After Slayings
In Gaffney South Carolina police labeled Lee Roye Martin a suspect in a cluster of strangulation murders. The 30 year old textile worker and father of three was arrested after a teenage girl’s body was found in a dry creek bed. Detectives say he will be charged in the slayings of Nancy Parris 20 and Nancy Rinehart 14 whose nude bodies were discovered nearby. Police warn the town remains unsettled as investigators press for further charges amid a wave of fear and a kidnapping earlier tied to the case.
