Mayor Bud Tins appointed Dr. Morrison Warren of Phoenix to lead MAG Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Committee. Five Arrested in Phoenix Narcotics Ring Bust

Five men and women tied to a nationwide narcotics ring were arrested in Phoenix after raids on two houses. Officers seized marijuana and other drugs worth over 100000 dollars and charged Day Kamvar and Simon with possession of marijuana. Day also faced assault with a deadly weapon after a pistol display during arrest. The group allegedly shipped marijuana to the east and west coasts in large quantities and used a parachute drop method near a field outside town. Simon had prior narcotics convictions and recent federal smuggling charges, with multiple arrests in Tempe and Nogales.
