Fire damages apartment from broken gas line near Miller Street
Firefighters say a broken gas line ignited by a pilot light caused $200 damage to an apartment at 602 S. Miller. The Rural Fire Department reported the leak and ignition, with the blaze confined to the furnace area. Auto strikes bike near Hayden and Oak Streets
A 16 year old bicyclist was struck by a car at Hayden and Oak in Scottsdale about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday. John Mildner was crossing on a walk signal when Brad Jones 18 of Sheridan Street left turned onto Hayden and struck him. Jones was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian. The rider and the driver spent the night in Mesa General Hospital.
