A Maricopa County report shows Scottsdale has 51 percent female residents and 26.6 percent earning over ten thousand dollars annually. The city also leads county municipalities with 2.6 percent in kindergarten. The county ratio is about 100.3 males per 100 women versus the national 97.1 to 100. The findings appear in a newly published Population Report by the Planning and Zoning Department.

Carle Scores Hole-In-One at Phoenix Open
Scottsdale Country Club pro Gary Carle aced the 140 yard par three on the Arizona Country Club course during the Phoenix Open. He used a seven iron from three feet beyond the pin which curled back into the hole. It marked his second career hole-in-one as he entered the round at two under par 142 and moved to five under after four holes.

Arizona Traffic Fatalities Rise in 1963 Toll
Three people died in Arizona traffic incidents over the weekend, lifting the 1963 state death toll to 54, surpassing last year’s count for the same date. Royival Crews, 48, died this morning on Highway 79 near Flagstaff when a possible tire failure or drowsiness caused a rollover. A man burned beyond recognition in a two car crash near Mesa was not identified. Diane Makil, 28, died when her car plunged into a canal five miles east of Coolidge. she was trapped under the vehicle.
