Burglars Take Plaque and Pipe From Tinder Box Shop

Police report burglars reached through a wrought iron bar door at the Tinder Box Shop in Los Arcos Mall 1385 N Scottsdale Rd and grabbed a decorator plaque and a pipe. No other items were taken. the break in occurred between 6 pm Saturday and 8 15 am Monday.

Auto Fire Extinguished in Rear Seat of Car

Scottsdale Rural Fire Department tackled a rear seat car fire at 7219 E. Belleview around 5 56 p.m. Monday. The 1960 or 1961 vehicle’s ownership and cause were undetermined. Firefighters also checked a smoking downed power line behind 8215 E. Windsor about 8 05 p.m. with no fire reported. A color TV transformer overheated at 8137 E. Columbus about 9 30 p.m. causing around 75 dollars in damage. firefighters said the set smoked but did not catch fire.

Invited Officers For Coffee Turns Violent

Police arrested Oliver J. Lovato after a disturbance call at 8561 E Roma around 10 15 p m last night. Lovato allegedly, intoxicated, grabbed Officer James Kershner and attempted to strike him after the officers refused a coffee invitation.
