Cubans Release Freedom Airlift From Havana
About 200 Americans and dependents left Cuba for Merida Mexico and on to the United States marking the first leg of an airlift expected to repatriate all some 3,700 Cuban exiles. Jorge Palacio praised the move as a first step toward freedom on the eve of flights to New Orleans aboard Pan American jetliners. The Mexican government arranged the operation, Cuba’s former leader Fidel Castro had vowed to end, and officials hope to complete the repatriation gradually.

Services were held for William T. Dunn 73 a pioneer in aviation and marine insurance and a former chair man of Frank B. Hall Insurance Brokerage Claims and Co. Inc. who died Monday at home in Phoenix He authored writings with C R Smith and Eddie Rickenbacker and began in marine claims with Averell Harriman later leading Dunn and Fowler in New York before joining Hall Company He is survived by his wife three sons a daughter a brother a sister and ten grandchildren.
