A 46 year old north Phoenix man, Richard R Townsend, died at the scene when his Volkswagen bus ran a red light at Tatum Boulevard and Lincoln Drive. Passenger Dave Ingles, 11, and Cindy Bernhardt, 15, both in satisfactory condition, were treated at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital with Cindy admitted to ICU. Craig L Bernhardt, 17, escaped injury.
