City to sue Darner Motors over police car bid
City last night voted to sue Darner Motors of Mesa for failing to meet contract terms on the purchase of five police cars. Darner was the low bidder at 11 100 for five Plymouth cruisers with refrigeration specified. City Attorney Osmond Burton Jr said Darner forgot refrigeration and asked to discuss, but discussion was not allowed as bids are final once submitted. The council unanimously approved filing suit and awarding the contract to the next low bidder New Dodge City.
