Soviet judge bars Salt Lake lawyer from visiting detained American
Craddock M. Gilmour Sr. asked to see Buel Ray Wortham in a Leningrad jail while awaiting trial on theft and currency charges. Judge N A Ermakov denied the request. Wortham and Craddock Gilmour Jr. face trial Monday for exchanging about 75 dollars in currency for black market rubles and Wortham for theft of a bear statue. Wortham remains in custody with no bail due to the nature of the alleged crime.
