Road to Mt. Graham Ends in $1.2 Million Lawsuit

The project stalled in 1973 after 28 miles of work and hospitalable safety concerns left a 4.9 mile bottom section and a 1.9 mile top segment ending at nowhere. The state seeks reimbursement for funds spent, while environmental concerns and prison labor shifts helped derail the plan.
