South Mountain Race Track prepares for a midget car event after heavy rains. Crews have cleared the flood damage and reshaped the oval for better traction. Featured drivers include Tory Drisd Crist of Los Angeles and a dozen others headed by Art Bisch from Chauncey From Arizona with El Paso, Texas, support. The annual Fish Tag Derby begins September 1 on Roosevelt Lake Apache Lake Canyon Lake and Sahuaro Lake. Participants with warm water licenses tag and release bass stripers crappie catfish bluegill and carp. Prizes include televisions and fishing plugs with value not tied to fish size.
