Americans ambushed in Tehran suburb killed in road attack
In Tehran suburb three American Rockwell International employees were shot to death in a morning highway ambush by guerrillas calling themselves Islamic Marxists. The victims, identified as 43 year old Californians William Cottrell Jr. Robert Krongard and Donald Smith, worked with Autonetics in Anaheim. The attack came amid a series of killings of U.S. personnel in Iran and followed the attackers fleeing in a Volkswagen.
