A Kiva School fifth grade teacher told police that a beehive used for class work was sprayed with poison Monday night, killing the bees and destroying the honey. Dennis Mercer, 22, reported keeping the hive beside a window area in Scottsdale.
A beehive at 8207 E Mitchell was sprayed with poison, valued at 35 dollars, as bees could not be relocated. Mesa Extension of Maricopa County Junior College adds four vocational programs this fall: practical nursing electronics technology drafting technology and clerical business. Fire at Rockingham Park in Salem New Hampshire killed five Thoroughbred horses, including one valued at 50 000 dollars, with damage estimated at 280 000 dollars. Authorities investigated as a possible arson after a second major blaze in nine days. Owner Lou Smith criticized the incident, insisting the fire was set.
Funeral services are set in Denver for 81 year old Charles Webster Talbot who died Tuesday in Phoenix General Hospital. He lived at 2001 E Rover Scottsdale and had moved from Covina California to Phoenix last year and earlier from Englewood Colorado. He was a retired auto dealer and born in East Covertrne Pennsylvania. Survivors include his widow Margaret a son Charles Jr a number of stepsons two sisters and a granddaughter.
