Twelve high school youths join the Scottsdale Youth Patrol sponsored by the Scottsdale Marshal's Posse and city police juvenile division. The first project is rifle safety at the Scottsdale Boys Club. They plan uniforms, patches, badges and begin an October bike safety and licensing drive in local schools.

Man who sent threat to JFK faces psychiatric testimony
In Hackensack New Jersey a 28 year old man Hirman B Norris of West New York is before Bergen County Court after being charged with attempting to send a threatening telegram to President Kennedy. Dr Laurence E Collins testified Norris suffers paranoia and is anti social and a danger to self and others. Norris was arrested July 9 while attempting to send the telegram which claimed to order Kennedy's assassination.

Car Overturns After High Speed Chase Injuring Driver
Safford Arizona UPI reports George Dawson age 43 suffered a back injury when the stolen 1955 sedan overturned after a seven mile pursuit by the Arizona Highway Patrol. Dawson was taken to Safford Inn Hospital. he claimed he stole the car in Miami Florida on Thursday or Friday but could not recall the exact day.
