Drowning Tragedy Strikes Family As Toddler Victoria Davidson Dies
A two year old girl, Victoria Anne Davidson, drowned in a pool near her Scottsdale home Thursday afternoon. She wandered from the Monterey Way carport area and was found in the Manley Arms pool about 1:10 p.m. Lifesaving efforts failed and she died at Baptist Hospital. Survived by parents Everette W. and Victoria, with paternal grandparents Emmette Davidson and maternal grandmother Mrs. J Arnote. Funeral planned for Greenwood Memorial Park with Rev. Donald Cummings.

Scotts dale imposes a fence rule for most pools in zoning classes RI 43 to R 5 with hotels excluded. The ordinance in effect since 1962 requires 40 foot minimum fencing, six feet maximum height, and locked gates when unattended. A two year old drowned in an unfenced pool prompting questions about enforcement though preexisting pools face limited action unless complaints arise. Building permits show 157 pools so far this year.

Reductions Approved For Cuts In Taxes
The House Ways and Means Committee approved 16 and 20 percent cuts in taxes on profits from stocks and property. It completed action on Kennedy’s personal income tax revisions except the elimination of preferential rates on stock dividends. A compromise would tighten dividend taxes for large stockholders, with across the board rate reductions and a net $10 billion two year tax cut.

He passed at 4:04 a.m. in a Children's Hospital Medical Center pressurized chamber in Boston with President Kennedy at his side.
