The Ingleside School invites parents and friends to a program on May 7 featuring May Pole dances and folk dances. Students and staff will perform, with attendance encouraged and a home reception afterward.
Arizona marks National Home Demonstration Week April 2 to May 35 with 156 active groups led by Jean M. Stewart at the University of Arizona. The program targets young homemakers with lessons on clothing for children nutrition fabrics and buying smart while extension agents support homemaker clubs statewide.
Williams AFB Ariz April 1 The Board of Civil Service Examiners announces an examination for a Career-Condh Final appointment to the position of Firefighter GS-4 with pay 3415 dollars per year. Sixty one eighth graders will receive promotion certificates at the First Annual Graduation Exercise to be held in the cafetorium at eight o clock with a reception to follow. The last day of school for eighth graders is Friday May 25. other grades attend until noon May 29. A “Direct Day” for the graduation class is May 18 at the Mesa Recreation Center featuring swimming skating and picnics.
Ingleside School reports busy preparations for a May Festival program on May 10 with mothers assisting costumes and logistics. Entries describe grade activities, from alphabet books and rhymes in First Grade to flower crafts in Third Grade, plus a bake sale on April 24 raising funds for Ditch Day or Graduation.
Kiwanis Club hosts a one night barbecue at the Scottsdale Community Center on Saturday May 3 at 6 00 pm. Tickets are 130 for adults 4 00 for children under 12 The event features beans beef salad and dessert and includes a light discussion on local school districts and possible annexation of Phoenix into a western town.
