Musical Comedy Theater Faces Debt Threat and Possible Closure
The Musical Comedy Theater in debt by about $2,000 with one more show “Fiorello” left this season. Joseph Esile directs the group, led by Dick Jarvis, as they risk closing next year if attendance and costs don’t improve. The pitiful turnout of 3,300 from 10 performances and high production costs, including a costly orchestra and Scottsdale High School auditorium rents, threaten continuation despite praise for top talent and strong reviews.
