Patterson blames bigots over Yonkers racial bias

Panama Stake Highlight Talk By State Official

A state department official Daniel W. Montenegro will address a Scottsdale audience on Americas stake in Panama. He speaks at 8 p.m. at the Unitarian Church in Scottsdale, hosted by the Scottsdale League of Women Voters and the Greater Phoenix Committee for United Nations Week. Bank Shortage Probed in Fairfield Illinois

FBI accountants probed a $972 371 41 shortage at a local bank as Lee Roy Brown a former minister from a prominent family faced charges of embezzling 15 000. Brown was hospitalized for a stomach disorder and nervousness before arraignment in East St Louis. Authorities expected weeks to map missing funds and bank ledger manipulations.

Parks Registration and Scottsdale zoning hearing notices

The Sentisdale Parks and Recreation Department will begin registration for art classes at the Goniinneily Center, 315 End St, with details via the recreation office phone. Scottsdale Planning and Zoning will hold a public hearing April 27 1964 at 8 00 P M in City Council Chambers on multiple parcel rezoning requests including R1 7 to R 5 and CS to RI 7 plus other boundary adjustments. Airport Survey Nears Finish in Scottsdale Site Study

Western attaches ban travel over Soviet restrictions

Western military attaches imposed a 90 day travel ban in the Soviet Union in protest of Moscow limits on U S and British officers. The move follows 90 day no travel restrictions on four American attaches and one British attache after incidents in Tula and a park near a military airfield. The U S embassy confirmed the British officer Davis faced similar limits. The U S retaliated by restricting four Soviet attaches to the Washington area. The City of Scottsdale announces a hearing at 8:00 P.M. April 20, 1964 in the Council Chamber to review assessments and proceedings for pavement sidewalks curbs gutters irrigation storm drains and related work on Marshall Way Orange Avenue El Dorado Lane Second Street First Street Main Street First Avenue within Scottsdale Arizona. The notice cites Sections 9-671 to 9-710 ARS and states bonds will be issued for about ten years at 4 percent interest payable from district assessments. Interested parties may file written objections with the City Clerk prior to the hearing and the council will address all objections at the hearing with final decisions deemed conclusive.
