The Scottsdale Business and Professional Women's club will hold a meeting on April 10 at Hidsaway 28 Pima Plaza. Dinner is at 7 p.m. and the business meeting at 8 p.m. All members are urged to attend.
Zeke notes many new workers from various places around Motorola and invites the community to an evening of Western food and fun at the East Thomas Road venue near Roundup Drive-In Theatre.
Tuesday night bowling in the Scottsdale Businesswomen's League saw First National Bank beat Patio Tea Room 3 to 1 and McQ's rout Porter's 4 to 0. Statewide Realty led standings with 40 wins, followed by Patio Tea Room 29 23 and Basket House 39. Santa Bartell of Patio Tea Room rolled high game and series 524 and 2 a2. Monday night in the Scottsdale Businessmen's League listed Cox Jewelry 0 over Pioneer Drug, Scottsdale Ki 4, Scottsdale Motors 0, Scottsdale Pharmacy 3 over Chew Market. Top bowlers Ken Swanton 257 627, Dick Gapheart 233 338, Ken Pahl 559, Claude Burson 2233. Scottsdale Motors and Scottsdale Pharmacy atop team standings.
Scottsdale Junior Women's Club schedules a fashion show at the Community Center on Wednesday April 17 at 8 pm. Members model clothing from Rae n Lee and From Here to Maternity.
Postmaster O C Wilson presented safe driving awards at the Scottsdale Post Office on April 2 6 p.m. to Robert S Adams Walter D Bauer and N Weaver Howard. Awards include a certificate and National Safety Council lapel pin for one or more years of accident free driving. Commendations from District Operations Manager W J Mason and regional director W D Brower were issued.
The Scottsdale Women's club will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday April 9 at 7 30 p m at the Scottsdale Community Center. An annual election of officers will be held and delegates will report on the Arizona Federation of Women's Clubs state convention in Willcox. Representatives included Mrs John Slocum Mrs Don Tintary and Mrs Earl Co Piepkorn.
Two new Toastmistress Clubs form in Mesa under Scottsdale sponsorship. A demonstration meeting will be held Friday evening April 5 at the Mesa Woman's Club with a workshop and open Q and A session led by Mrs. John Maas. Toastmistress for the evening is Mrs. Charles Turek with guests Miss Peg Hirt and Mrs. Portia Cline.
Arcadia Liquor Store owner Les Vandersteen is recovering in Memorial Hospital after major surgery last Tuesday. He thanks friends for kindness and gifts, and mentions Mr and Mrs Jess Udall and family moving into the Scotts area.
