Six Churches Honor Late Pastor In Rededication of Dyckman Hall

Clergy and congregations from six churches met in Scarndale Congregational Hall to honor late pastor Henry M. Dyckman, rededicating the hall as Dyckman Hall. Dr. Street praised the unity service, and Rev. Paton delivered the sermon, highlighting Dyckman’s life and ministry.

Montclair Driver Arrested For Forty MPH On Post Road

Mrs M Braender of Montclair was arrested for speeding at forty miles per hour on the Post road. She paid a $10 fine to Judge Mercer and left. Also charged were Adolph Rothenberg for thirty five mph on the same road and Max Rappaport of New York for contempt of court with fines totaling $20. Four stray horses owned by Benjamin Levi of Mamaroneck were fined $5 after being found roaming.

Mrs Deshler Wins At Scarsdale Golf Club Putting

The Scarsdale Golf Club hosts putting matches with winners Mrs George Hussey of Bronxville Mrs Burch Foraker of New York and Mrs Charles Deshler of Scarsdale. Hostess Mrs Raymond P Morse provided tea after the event. A second nine hole course was added to speed play and a cup donated by a club member will be contested in October. Conditions for play are pending final decisions.

Marines Are Victors In Legion Athletic Game

American Legion Day was marked by an athletic carnival at The Glen Yonkers with over a thousand attendees. Marines beat Grand Central Terminal 8 to 7 in an eleven inning baseball game umpired by George Bauersfeld and Henry M. Angus. Boxing bouts directed by Ralph B. Saward and track events led by James J. Lee featured public school pupils and Legion members from Westchester County.

Wagon Crash Halts Trolley Service on Post Road

A wagon from Scarsdale Supply Co collided with a trolley pole at Wayside lane, sending a pole into Mrs. M. Jordan’s yard. Wires dangled near the road. Patrolman Beekman controlled traffic until White Plains emergency wagon repaired the damage. No injuries. service resumed after wires were secured.

Church Teams Play Ball at High School Diamond

The Men s Chapter of St James the Less beat the Men s Club of Christ Church Bronxville 12 to 8 last Saturday. Rectors on both teams starred and Marsden of Bronxville made a long run while Remsen Cook and Kenneth Logan backed fielding. Tarbox of Scarsdale and Mitchell of Bronxville pitched, with George W Both officiating as umpire.
