Charles J Costabell withdrew from the supervisor race after Greenville primary defeats sealing a bid to keep his Council seat. Delegates from districts 21 22 and 35 were chosen to attend the Greenburgh Republican Town Convention with each district earning one delegate per 100 GOP votes in the last gubernatorial election. Mrs Carl A Miller reelected chairman at the Sept 9 reorganizational meeting as William H Van Dorn backs for supervisor. Russo Seely and Hughes also re elected or held positions.

Scarsdale Church Fetes Pastor and Wife 25th Anniversary
More than 300 guests attended the Scarsdale Community Baptist Church celebration for Pastor Rev. Herbert W. Hansen and Mrs. Hansen in Fellowship Hall Monday evening. William A. Mercer led, Howard Abbott toasted, and Rotary friends presented three gold bricks and a bag of silver dollars. A $600 gift from church members accompanied tributes highlighting the Hansens' service to church and community.

Village and Town Boards Open Fall Session Briefly
The first fall meeting for both boards opened with a quorum shortly after start time. Tax collection slightly under last year is not worrying, and town equalized special franchise values fell by 3703 dollars. Sewer extensions were approved for White Birch Lane and Carthage Road, with borings for the new library site underway. Harold V. King joins the Safety Council for Arthur Manor and Horace W. Hardy is reappointed from Greenacres.

Edgemont School District board approved architects plans for a new elementary building on Ardsley Road in Fort Hill. Bids expected by Oct 21 with ground breaking around Navy day and a hoped September 1950 opening. Military Funeral Held For Lt. Thomas Tolin
A military funeral was held at the U S Army cemetery near San Francisco for Lt. Thomas S. Tolin who was killed in action over Germany on Nov 26 1944. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Richard Morton Tolin of TXV Ranch Tyrone New Mexico and had arrived in England with the 8th Air Force in Sept 1944 earning the Air Medal on Nov 3 1944.
