The Hartsdale Singing Society will stage a church performance tonight at the Hartsdale Methodist Church. An admission of twenty five cents is charged with refreshments available in the parlors for an extra fee.
Mr. H. S. Ford of Ferncliff prepared his automobile for a ride to Yonkers and left it in the driveway. The car ran into a tree on the lawn, with the damaged machine later taken to White Plains for repair.
John Connors longtime Harlem Railroad employee and gatekeeper died Sunday September 1 at his White Plains home from apoplexy. He served nearly forty years and was pensioned last year. Survived by a daughter and three sons. Interment in Mt Calvary Cemetery.
A September 16 meeting in Eastchester will discuss the trolley issue. Citizens seek a commitment from the company to transfer passengers from the Connecticut line to the Union line without extra charge and urge immediate completion of the roads.
Mr Sam Stark acted as village constable and captured a man named Sickles chasing his wife toward New York. Stark tied the prisoner to a telegraph pole and left to fetch help, returning to find the rope cut and Sickles escaped.
An inquest on Dr. Dana's death in Bronxville censured the Railroad Company for lacking a gate and flagman at the crossing. Break Neck Hill, once feared, was macadamized by Greenburg town, but storms since have washed it out, causing damage and urging prompt repairs to avoid higher future costs.
