State Dept reports on water quality in Scarsdale

Firemen Hold Annual Field Day in Westchester
The seventh annual Field Day of the Westchester County Volunteer Firemen’s Association was held at the Empire City track between Mount Vernon and Yonkers. Attendance was down from last year due to competing events. A band played, dancing occurred, and athletic events dominated the program. White Plains athletes scored only in a relay won by Company A First Infantry, while the Boy Scouts ran six events under Scout Executive George Oakley. The Board of Water Commissioners reports bids opened August 17 1921 for Bell and Spigot and Universal pipe extensions. Beaver Engineering and Contracting Company of New York City was the low bidder at 96836 for Bell and Spigot and also lowest on Universal pipe at 970 etc. The engineers recommend Beaver for the contract to complete by January 1 1922 with possible extension for weather or rock.
