The Scarsdale League of Women Voters schedules a "Semi Rural Day" on September 13 for a motorcade tour of open spaces led by Mrs. David Rumsey Jr. Stops include Brewster Road High School area and Saxon Woods. Bring a sandwich and 50 cent parking. alternate date September 14 if rain.
The Westchester Ethical Society won off street parking approval from the Planning Commission on Saxon Woods Road near the White Plains border. Restrictions limit use to a proposed meeting house and school on the society property.
Ann Ross Gallery in White Plains marks its eighth year at 93 East Post Road after opening on Mamaro meck Avenue. The owner explains perseverance, mixed gallery strategy, and the aim to balance art with personal taste, offering works on consignment and occasional purchases for artists like David Porter.
The Garden Section of the Scarsdale Woman's Club begins work to beautify Scarsdale station with 200 yews, two dogwood trees, and fencing removal costing about 10 000 dollars. Town polls will be open from noon to 9 p.m. today for the primary between Ogden R. Reid and Rep Edwin B. Dooley for the 26th district. Republicans registered before August 6 may vote. Regular polling places will be used in all 12 districts.

The Scarsdale Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association will present Teahouse of the August Moon, a Pulitzer Prize comedy, on October 24 and 35 at Scarsdale High School Auditorium with John Hemmerly directing. Proceeds fund the PBA sickness death and retirement fund for Scarsdale Police Department members. Robert Haseltine stars as Sakini, with William Mehe and others in major roles.
Rabbi Jack Stern Jr. will be installed as spiritual leader of Westchester Reform Temple during Sabbath Eve services on September 14 at 8 30 p.m. Rabbi Jacob P Rubin will install and preach, with Rabbi Stern responding.
