Scarsdale Estates reports unusual sales on Greenacres streets Berkley Road Walworth and nearby. J Beale James W Adams Frederic Pope and others bought plots and residences including a $15000 Whitin residence. Leases and sales continue around Gilmore Court Brayton Place and Walworth Avenue with several new houses under construction or being prepared for occupancy.
White Plains officials hear Scarsdale residents oppose annexation plans. Committeemen Benedict J. Carpenter and Philip W. Russell stress Scarsdale's residential character, unique development, and desire to retain independence. water, gas, sewer, fire protection, roads, and police are cited as solid local services.
The sewer commission appoints engineers to oversee a rapidly pushed new sewer project. Early in the week officials targeted space and access needs to advance the work efficiently.
The Town Clerk reported three firms submitted bids for the freight road project. William F. McCabe Constructing Company of White Plains Brooks Casey Engineering and Constructing Company of New Rochelle and Frank Bracatello of The Ride submitted bids. The board assigned engineers to analyze bids and decide on approval at next meeting.
