Four Eastchester firemen and two police patrolmen were injured by ammonia fumes while stopping a leak at the Siwanoy Country Club. A W O L Club Set for September Opening
The A W O L Club in the Harwood Building will formally open next Tuesday at eight o'clock. Scarsdale leaders and American Legion officers announced the opening with G H Bernheiser as president and F Paul Clemens as vice president. Clarence Varian heads the event committee. Mayor Robert E Christie Jr and bank and trust president Rush Wilson are expected to attend to roll the first balls in the new bowling alleys. Refreshments will follow as the club showcases four bowling alleys and game and lounge amenities. Membership goals rise from 160 to about 250.

Motorcycle Patrolman Injured In Eastchester Crash

Fire breaks out at Scarsdale Lodge roof blaze
A fire erupted on the roof of Scarsdale Lodge on School Lane late Saturday evening at 6 32 caused by a vent pipe from the kitchen. Firemen from the Scarsdale department extinguished the blaze by 8 52, leaving the roof safe from further outbreaks.

Gardner Angell Thrown From Horse in Arizona Ride

Succumbs to Heart Attack At Broadmoor Country Club
Jack Opkins, 42, of 609 West 177 Street New York City died of a heart attack at Broadmoor Country Club on Weaver Street soon after ten Sunday morning. He collapsed while playing golf and was taken to the clubhouse, where he passed away. The body was taken to New York after notifying his family. He was accompanied by brother in law Nathan L Areles and George Singerland, both New York residents. Opkins was married with unknown children.
