High Winds Knock Down Trees and Wires in Scarsdale
Gale force winds up to 70 miles per hour caused damage across Scarsdale on Monday. Detective Harold Morgan helped arrest Kenneth Meyer 40 after he left Buckingham Apts carrying silverware clothing jewelry and a radio the arrest ended a spate of burglaries in Westchester Meyer an escaped Georgia convict alias Hyman Kromick was identified by victims and a taxi driver. Police from Scarsdale Parkway and Greenburgh aided. Meyer is questioned in Mount Vernon Bronxville White Plains and three Garth Rd burglaries with a recent escape from Old Capitol Prison in Georgia.

Sheep Rustling Case Set for September 8
George D. Bason of White Plains was arrested by Scarsdale police on suspicion of stealing a sheep from the Crane estate where he worked for Miller McClintock. After admitting a second theft, the charge was reduced to petty larceny and he is to appear in court September 8. A second man, Ralph Stellati of Tuckahoe, was jailed on a petty larceny charge and posted bail after allegedly receiving one of the sheep for $6.50. McClintock valued each animal at $45.
