Sock Social by Hartadale M E Church Aids Fund
On Wednesday evening December 5 the Hartadale M E Church ladies host a Sock Social in the church parlors to benefit the Christmas tree fund. A card sent with a sock asks guests to deposit pennies. the poem explains the sock is not worn and twenty cents is the prize. A programme and tree display will accompany a supper from six to ten, with home related gifts for all ages and requests for sock returns to raise funds.

The will of Thomas A. Maitland, late of Quaker Ridge, leaves about 250000 dollars and provides 1000 dollars to a Rye Neck church pastor for masses. His wife Helen gets 5000 to distribute to the diocese’s churches and charities. Coach team horses named All Scarlet, Phoenix, Free Lance and Constitution are to be shot when past service. A coachman receives 2000 dollars, and daughters Helen and Agn é a share upon widow’s death. Children who choose religious life receive half their bequest.
