Holiday Schedule Noted for Scarsdale Election Week
Election Day Tuesday November 8 and Veterans Day Friday November 11 create a one or two holiday week for Scarsdale. Schools close both days for a three day weekend while adult school holds regular Tuesday classes and the library keeps usual hours on Election Day but closes Veterans Day.

Window Painting By SHS Junior Takes Top Prize
Susan Molander of 132 Brewster Road won the 1966 grand prize in the 18th annual Scarsdale Window Painting Contest. The 16 year old Scarsdale High School junior scored 300 points and will receive $100 at the November 9 awards dinner. Seven hundred sixty participated under sunny skies. judges from the Scarsdale Art Association evaluated 420 paintings.

Russian teacher visits Scarsdale schools for exchange year
Valentina Zorina from Moscow is on a three week stay to study teaching methods in Scarsdale as part of the USA USSR Cultural Exchange. She toured Heathcote School and its library, praising reading instruction and classroom dialogue. She noted differences in social studies and arithmetic, and will visit Greenacres, Junior High, and high school before leaving November 19.
