N W Perry reports major additions to Scarsdale’s telephone network including four-fifths of a mile of underground cable on Popham road with 1212 pairs, 2.4 miles of aerial line in Edgemont, 686 feet of new subway housing six ducts from Ardsley to Edgemont, and 1056 feet of cable for 900 pairs. Work started and will finish this year to meet rising demand. Ten years ago the central office served 727 telephones. now 4339, a 500 percent growth.

Flower Show Draws Large Crowd in Scarsdale
Scarsdale's annual flower show opened at the Scarsdale Woman's Club drawing more than 350 entries and 400 visitors. Exhibits includes cacti and desert plants as well as spring blossoms. Fifty four women played the second Ladies Day at Scarsdale Golf Club. Anthony Morse won Class A with a 34 net on nine holes.
