Chester R. Dewey of Garden Rd was slated to be elected president of the Town Club for the coming year at the annual meeting held last night in the High School auditorium. He will succeed Paul S. Band and Chorus Concert Is Tonight at Weaver Street School
The Quaker Ridge School Band the Adult Chorus and the School Chorus present a free Spring concert at 8 15 PM in the Weaver Street School auditorium. Under John H Davies the 42 member band plays 12 numbers including Overture to Hansel and Gretel Liebestraum and Rubenstein Melody in F. The Adult Chorus organized last February sings Your Land and My Land Silver Moon and Come To the Fair. The School Chorus performs Gilbert and Sullivan Pinafore with principal roles by Jeffrey Shirman Brenda Strada and others, with Mr Davies conducting and Martha Brean on flute.

Combat Training In Atomic Warfare At Camp Desert Rock
Pfc Billie L Oldaker of Summerfield Ave has been training at Camp Desert Rock Nev in the atomic weapons proving ground. He entered service in February 1946 and observed the spring ninth nuclear blast from 9800 yards ground zero then joined a mock attack on the blast area with thousands of troops present to study atomic warfare and its defenses.
