Radcliffe Petitions Supreme Court Over Building Plan
Judge Tompkins signed an order to show cause why mandamus should not issue directing Scarsdale Building Inspector to permit Radcliffe to continue building on Brown place and Circle road. Scarsdale will answer May 24. Radcliffe seeks two multi family houses on zoned property now changed to Zone A for private residences. Neighbors raised the issue on Circle road as plans evolved from three single family homes with a Circle road driveway.

Funeral of S. Steel Held Here Saturday
Sanger Bright Steel of Wayside Jane died in New York City on Thursday May 12. His funeral was held at 4 PM Saturday at St James the Less Church conducted by Rev. Alan R. Chalmers and Rev. George H. Smyth with interment in the churchyard. Pallbearers included Harold Bennett Caleb Tucker Briggs Robert Christie and others from Scarsdale Pelham Manor New York and Chicago. Steel survived by three children and his mother and sister. He was born in Juliet Illinois in 1889 and had careers at Lee Higginson Paine Webber J G White Co and served as Bond Club of New York president.
