Scarsdale Woman's Club Flower Show Showcases Open House Theme

The Scarsdale Woman's Club hosted its annual Spring Flower Show with the Open House theme. Garden Section and multiple clubs displayed arrangements by sections such as American Home, Art, Drama, French, Literature, Travel, and Thrift Shop, with numerous first, second, and third prizes awarded to members including Mrs. Bertram F. Bongard as chair and Mrs. Hugh H. Van Zelm as tri color award winner.

Bonney to Lead Scarsdale Community Fund Budget Committee

Sherwood M. Bonney of Walworth Avenue named chair of the budget committee for the Scarsdale Community Fund and Council Inc. at the May 15 board meeting. The group will study beneficiaries for need and merit and advise the board on allocations for the October community-wide appeal.

Quaker Ridge Students Gift $500 to UNICEF at U N

Sixth graders from Quaker Ridge School visited New York City and presented UNICEF with $500. Peggy Sheridan led the presentation. They toured the United Nations with an 8:30 a m departure and 9:45 a m guided tour viewing nations gifts and a UNICEF film in Mexico after lunch.

Greenacres invites 950 families to spring meeting

Invitations have been sent to 950 Greenacres area families for a spring meeting Monday at 8 15 p m The Greenacres Association of Scarsdale Inc will be joined by Village Board members in a session aimed at boosting mutual understanding and cooperation A sound track will remind residents of the event Coffee will be served at 7 40 p m The meeting takes place in the Greenacres School gymnasium

Scarsdale Auxiliary Gifts 100000 for White Plains Hospital Fund

The Scarsdale Auxiliary of White Plains Hospital donates 100000 to the hospital building fund for enlargement and modernization estimated at 3 million dollars. Everett J. Penny, campaign head, presents the gift to Leslie B. Gillie as auxiliary president Benjamin P. Lane notes members’ urgent support. The group, organized in 1927 with 550 members, also runs Hospitality services at the hospital.

Barbara Marks and her children Tom and Emily share study time at 400 Heathcote Road as she earns Columbia Teachers College courses. She also works as librarian at Isaac Young Junior High while serving on the Quaker Ridge School Board and planning a future teaching career.

Cast To Give Encores Of Our Town For Overseas Tour

Cast of Our Town seeks two or possibly four paid performances to raise 32500 dollars for a European tour. May 29 and 30 at the high school with 300-seat in the round venues. tickets five dollars available at the high school and Harwood Building. Mother's committee led by Mrs. Samek sells tickets May 27. Balance due in June. only 440 residents have donated so far though 10000 have not acted. Sponsorship list expanded with numerous local names. First inoculations completed for overseas travel.
