Suffrage Mass Meeting Planned Next Saturday

A suffrage mass meeting under the Women's Political Union will be held at Thurber with speaker Sara A. Slatter former Assembly member. Helen Todd of California drew enthusiastic applause on May 4th. a large audience is expected. Mrs Thurber to speak in Yonkers on May 15. Statewide School Meeting Day Proposed by NY Regents

Water Board Seeks 1.25 Million Evergreen Trees

The New York City Board of Water Supply plans to plant 1,250,000 evergreen trees along forty miles of shore at Ashokan and Kensico reservoirs within three years to shield water quality. Trees will replace any that die and guard the thousand foot shore strip owned by the city. deciduous trees are less suitable due to fall browns. The board previously grew and planted about 1,000,000 young evergreens in its nurseries last year.
