Hare Resigns as Quaker Ridge Supervising Principal
Dudley Hare, supervising principal of Quaker Ridge Schools in Scarsdale District 2, resigns effective July 1 to become superintendent of Ossining Schools. He has served seven years, improving a rural 75 pupil school and a modern building now reused with Griffen Ave. Ossining serves 3,500 students with a building program in view. District 2 has received 24 applications for the vacated post.

Scarsdale Schools Receive Multiple Library Gifts
The Scarsdale Board of Education accepted several library gifts from local groups and individuals. An anonymous donor contributed $50 annually for High School books, requested to be noted in honor of Lester Nelson. Edgewood PTA and Fox Meadow PTA provided 30 and 50 dollar book donations respectively, Greenacres library received $50 in memory of Jane Alfring, and Mrs. Herbert S. Cook donated an electric corn popper to Greenacres. The board approved four new English texts and extended the District Two high school pupil contract through 1954-55. Next meeting is June 1.

At the May 7 Edgemont Board meeting the board authorized Englehardt and Leggett as educational consultants to advise on architects needs specifications and program for a new junior senior high school. Five staff positions for next year were approved including George Wilber named junior high school dean. Wilber has 12 years in education and a background as guidance director. Quaker Ridge Dads Help Bicycle Safety Effort
The Dad's Club of Quaker Ridge School will work with the Scarsdale Safety Council to improve bicycle safety for Scarsdale District 2 youths.
