Village Gains Second Place in County Drive
Scarsdale ranks second in Westchester County for total receipts and new members for the Westchester County Children's Association. Village eyes new prices for Swale property purchase
The village plans to obtain options on the Swale land between Crane property on Popham Road and the Boulevard to add to open spaces. The Board authorized the village engineer Tuesday to secure offers and report back. Last May the purchase was dropped due to high asking prices and possible condemnation costs with about half the lots priced at two to five times appraisals. One $2,000 site sought $4,000, a $1,000 site $5,000, and an $800 site $4,000.
