Scarsdale and Greenburgh district residents attended brief meetings last Tuesday. In Scarsdale Quaker Ridge elected Szabach to another term, Steyer to replace Oppenheim, and approved a $761,209 budget 86 to 20. Three bond proposals totaling 50,000 passed narrowly. Greenville Edgemont elected Close, Gallantz, and Griffiths to fill seats. budget 84 to 1 with tax rise offset by higher assessed value.

Play School and Day Camp Registrations Open May 18
The Recreation Department announces registrations for the 1959 summer programs. Seven week Play School sessions run at Greenacres Heathcote and Edgewood for ages four to eight from July 6 Monday to Friday nine to noon. Day Camp for ages nine to fifteen operates nine to 4 15 at the Junior High School with activities in arts crafts music dance nature and athletics. Fees rise to 25 first child 16 second 5 weekly for Play School and 52 first child 30 second 10 weekly for Day Camp, with milk lunches and trips included for Day Camp. Applications and brochures will be mailed to 1958 registrants and registrations accepted weekdays May 18 onward at Village Hall 9:30 to four.

Village Board schedules two public hearings Tuesday

Dick Clark to Join Scarsdale Girl Scout Benefit
Dick Clark will appear in Scarsdale High School auditorium next Friday evening May 15 for a benefit to cover expenses of 16 girls and three adults attending the Senior Girl Scout Roundup in Colorado Springs in July. The program includes the Eddie Duchin Story in technicolor and ushers are Roundup delegates and alternates. Friends of Parks Urge Restudy of Harwood Parks

Scarsdale Budget Passes Despite Extended Meeting
By a vote of 781 to 723, Scarsdale School District One budget passed after a long Tuesday night meeting at the AB gym. About 1515 residents voted between three and nine, with 530 ballots cast on the slate for trustees. Norman Smeltzer, John S. Snyder and Duke Brown were elected to successive terms, while several write-ins gained scattered votes. The meeting approved use of school buildings after hours for political meetings and heard budget details including a revised $4,157,000 proposal and a $3,295,692 tax raise with a rate of 39.86.
