Inquest Opened Into Patrolman Doty Death
Coroner Edward F. Fitzgerald began an inquest at the Village Hall into the death of Patrolman Alonzo H. Doty who was struck by an automobile driven by Paul Zuckerman on the evening of April 15. Doty died at White Plains Hospital. The inquest heard Patrolman Faulkner describe the accident on Popham road as they walked against traffic. Faulkner said Doty was struck after he shouted Look out Doty as the car, traveling about 30 to 40 mph, struck him and carried him 48 feet.

Scarsdale OKs site for garbage plant and retires fire house bonds
The Scarsdale Village Planning Commission met to approve a garbage disposal plant site and withdraw bids on bonds for the new Fire House. Highway bonds, authorized at the March 20 village election, sold at a premium of four and a half percent to yield 50,366.50 from a 50,000 issue. The disposal plant bonds were bought by Union National Corporation of New York City at 102.68, totaling 49,264.80 for a 48,000 issue.

Tragic Bronxville Train Death of Frank Denzel
Frank W. Denzel of Bronxville road an accountant for Scarsdale Supply Co was killed while boarding a northbound train at Bronxville on Tuesday morning. He slipped grabbed a rail and was dragged fifty to sixty feet before a fatal fall under the moving cars the right side wedged under the platform opening left side mangled skull crushed limbs amputated. He died at Bronxville Hospital minutes after arrival leaving a wife and one year old infant.
