The Scarsdale Athletic Club held a Friday night spring festival and fair with about one hundred attendees. Music from Mr Piccot’s gramophone and festive decorations of flags and Japanese lanterns accompanied a lively, social evening that yielded a profit of around $60.00.
Resolutions adopted by the Hartsdale Fire Company dated April 27 1906 thank Lemuel M Hart Esquire of Hartdale NY for delivering a full covenants deed of Central Avenue plot 60 by 188 feet. They elect him honorary member and praise his public spirit and welfare to the fire company. Copies and endorsements will be sent to Mr Hart with notice of his honorary status.

John W. Oliver longtime Yonkers Statesman editor celebrates his ninetieth birthday last Saturday. Born in Baltimore he arrived penniless in New York, built a career with his brother to publish the New York Organ, retired briefly in 1866, moved to Yonkers in 1872 and became editor and later owner of the Yonkers Statesman now controlled by a stock company.
A book social will be held at the Methodist Church on Wednesday of next week. Admission is a book for the Sunday School Library, old or new, with no cash required and a good line anticipated.
