At a brief village meeting the Scarsdale board praised Mayor H. Beach Carpenter and Trustee Robert M. Gates for their service. The resolutions thanked Carpenter for leadership and Gates for unselfish devotion, with tributes from onlookers and community groups.
Mrs H J Stander is nominated for president of the Scarsdale High School Parent Teacher Association. Nominating committee chair Mrs E R Broennime and members include Mrs John Thies Mrs Douglas E Lurton Mrs Horace O Westman and Mrs Otto E Dohrenwend. Other officer nominees are Fred Wohlers Oliver A Kingsbury Boyd Brown and Mrs George S Callaway.
The mayor will file the annual income and expenditures estimate for the coming year next Monday March 31 as his final act before leaving office. The estimate goes to the incoming Village Board at its April 7 organization meeting at eight p.m. It is reviewed by the new board as a committee of the whole and then presented at a public budget hearing.
The Scarsdale Woman's Exchange seeks its largest membership in sixteen years, with regular two dollar and supporting five dollar annual dues. About 450 members exist, with 75 volunteers. consignors supply goods on a no loss basis, Exchange takes 20 percent, funding rent, utilities, and staff under 25-member board led by Mrs. Frank MacGregor Smith.
Local districts announce Easter vacation schedules with Eastchester ending April 2, Edgemont at noon April 3, and Scarsdale after the Thursday session. All schools plan to resume Monday April 14.
Kent Litchfield eight of 45 Walworth Avenue was taken to White Plains Hospital on March 1 after his left forearm broke on the Greenacres School playground.

Arthur Wheelock White Plains secretary. Elwood W Cromwell Scarsdale treasurer. Christmas Seal sale reached 92 500 dollars, and seven thousand X rays have been taken in the mobile unit in use since January 15. Schedules are set three to four months ahead due to high appointment demand.
County Trust Company in Scarsdale will stay open Thursday evenings from seven to 8 30 starting April 10. All county banks including County Trust will be closed Saturdays beginning April 5.
A carnival staged by sixth grade boys at Green Acres School on March 15 raised 112 dollars. They turned the proceeds over to the Westchester County Cancer Committee for its forthcoming fund drive. Committee chair is Mrs. J A Bogardus of 21 Dolma Road.
The Drake Road Edgewood Neighborhood Association board adopts a resolution condemning the Republican caucus for withdrawing from the nonpartisan citizens committee. It urges party support for nonpartisan nominees and warns that campaign activity between rivals harms voter participation.
Dickie Keane won the junior bowling championship at Scarsdale Golf Club with a 679 over three games with handicap. Phil Keane trailed by a narrow margin, and Jim Reed led at two thirds before falling to second. Regular season notes mention upcoming Class B men’s championship with five games each Saturday and Sunday and a pathway to the Class A tournament.
Dana Caulkins of Scarsdale Westchester County recreation superintendent was elected to the executive committee of the Recreation Executives Association of Westchester County at a luncheon meeting held at Donnybrook Lodge last Wednesday.
A non-partisan citizens committee warns that unless the Republican party rescinds a certain action the non-partisan system of government in Scarsdale will be seriously injured.

Scarsdale residents were involved in eleven of the twenty five accidents reported in January and February. Four occur before noon, eighteen between noon and midnight, three after midnight. Rain or snow touched only three events. seven were on dry pavement, three on wet, fifteen on slippery surfaces with nine skidding incidents.
