Three grass and brush fires erupted within hours in Scarsdale as spring arrived. At 3:30 p.m. firefighters doused a blaze at Penn Boulevard with brooms and chemicals. Edgemont Reports Scarlet Fever Case In Eighth Grade
A new scarlet fever case appeared in the Edgemont School on Seely Place, this time in the eighth grade. To prevent spread the grade was dismissed until after the Easter vacation and parents were asked to keep children isolated until next week after the incubation period. Dr. Burton Lattin attributed possible infection to a recent White Plains moving picture performance. the last case in the school was eighty days earlier in another grade.
