Falls From Scaffold Kill Man Working Under Bridge Arch

Grass Fires Spread Across Local Streets This Week
Last Friday afternoon two new grass fires erupted on Heathcote road and at R. Niemann’s Lyons street residence, both put out with brooms. A firefighter quoted Lewis Carroll amid the cleaning sweep. In Scarsdale police court last Thursday six people got suspended sentences for letting dogs run unmuzzled and four were fined ten dollars. Names of offenders include Mrs. Harold Palmer and Mrs. A N Mann among the fined, and Mrs Natalie Scott and H C Turner among those given suspended sentences. Judge Carter notes differing views on village dog muzzling policy and explains in a letter to The Inquirer.

The Hitch cock Memorial Church Greenacres trustees announce a two story stone Children’s House to ease Sunday School crowding.
