A campaign to raise 1.1 million dollars for a new school of nursing and hospital modernization was launched at a White Plains area dinner. About 300 residents from Scarsdale and surrounding communities formed a citizens committee to support the project, with leading roles for Girvan N. Snider Farle R. Van Viiet and William L. Butcher. The plan includes a seven story nurses school with housing for 92 students and 11 faculty, plus extensions and new wings to increase capacity and improve maternity and physical medicine facilities.
