Fire started in painters materials in the living room corner of a nearly finished house on Glenwood road Edgemont last Thursday evening. It did about three thousand dollars damage before Greenville Fire Company extinguished it. The house is owned by Gerald S Vivert of 33 West 42nd street New York.

Gas Explosion Damages New House on Murray Hill Road
An indoors gas leak seeping into a near finished home at Murray Hill road and Morris lane caused a blast that ripped flooring and shattered windows. Mrs. Abbott two workers and a Westchester Lighting Co representative escaped harm as the Scarsdale fire company contained a brief blaze. Repairs were made and gas reconnected for testing before the Abbotts move in next Monday.

Scarsdale Creates Fire Prevention Division By Ordinance
A Fire Prevention Division is created by ordinance passed Tuesday night by the Vil lage Board upon proposal by George Clifton. It will be led by the Fire Chief, who will also head the division, and starts April second. The Chief will inspect at least four times yearly and can order removal of hazards and installation of protections. Violations may render owners liable for costs. Readiness notes praise from the Board of Fire Underwriters, which rated Scarsdale highly for fire protection.

Girl Scout Council Meets in Westchester County
Miss Beatrice Crane Mrs E W Cook and Mrs Thomas F Burgess attended the Westchester County Girl Scout Mandate Council mid winter meeting in White Plains. The 1928 budget for county Girl Scout work had not yet been raised and local groups continue collecting contributions. The National Girl Scouts are building a fund in memory of Juliette Low to support world peace and scouting worldwide. Westchester County Girl Scouts and leaders have contributed $464.06 to date.
