Two Youths Critically Injured In Car Crash On Brewster Road
Scarsdale youths Steven Newman and David Fastiggi remained in critical condition at White Plains Hospital after a Saturday night crash on Brewster Road. Newman, 17, drove a car that left the road, struck a tree and overturned near 46 Brewster Road. A second vehicle may have been involved, though unconfirmed.

State orders Penn Central to boost Harlem Hudson commuter service
New York State Public Service Commission orders Penn Central to upgrade equipment and service on the Harlem and Hudson divisions. Requirements include 80 new cars and 24 engines in two years, 80 percent on-time trains, track clearance, two way radios, and suburban public address systems with fines up to 5000 dollars per violation for noncompliance.
