Zodiacal Light Analyzer Aboard Delta Thor Spacecraft
On August 8 NASA will launch the Zodiacal Light Analyzer into orbit via a Delta Thor rocket from Cape Kennedy. Dr. Auguste L Rouy leads the instrument design with patents such as the Rouy method for photoelectric polarimetry. He and his wife Sylvaine migrated from France in 1942 and now reside in Scarsdale.

A composite sketch led Scarsdale police to arrest Anthony Hammary 32, a former Sing Sing officer, for two armed robberies in July. He allegedly posed as a home buyer to rob Mrs. Murray Snyder at 53 Paddington Road and attacked Dr. and Mrs. Marcus Moore at 177 Saxon Woods Road. Bail set at $20,000. arraigned July 28 before Judge John M. Friedman.

Democrats Propose Plan For Scatter Incinerators
Westchester County Democrats unveiled a solid waste plan at White Plains headquarters calling for an Environmental Health Administration to run a county wide program. Seven ultra high temperature incinerators would be built across the county to replace fragmented town and village disposal. Incinerators would burn at 3000 degrees F, reducing motor blocks to five percent of bulk. Waste now dumped at Croton Point would end as the area is closed in 1970. The Metcalf-Eddy study urged upstate railroad hauled waste. critics cite high costs and upstate resistance. Cost is estimated at 10 dollars per ton initially, dropping to seven after payback. Local units would haul waste to the seven sites.

Congressman Ogden R. Reid announces that a re-implemented over-water approach to LaGuardia runway 22 will take effect within 60 days. FAA official George M. Gary confirms use of the .055 degree radial, routing planes over water except in instrument conditions, with measures to minimize impact on any single community. Robbery at Griffen Road Home During Celebrity Guests
A thief entered the second story master bedroom at 25 Griffen Road on Friday July 25 as the family entertained on the rear patio. An extension ladder was used to reach the room, and jewelry valued at unspecified amount was stolen. Police reported the room was ransacked and the total loss has not yet been determined.
